Winner – Exporter of the Year 2017
28th November 2017
Against stiff competition, we were informed that we were clear winners of this category. Reported as a positive and professional company who contributes significantly to the Dorset export economy and British commerce.
Exporting to the vast number of different countries as AGI does, supporting Navies, Armies and Airfields worldwide doesn’t come without its challenges. The shipments we undertake and the products we handle are complex and varied. We ship over 20 different types of systems (not to mention various components and spares) to over 65 countries. The majority of the equipment we export is controlled by UK Government, as it is specifically designed for Military use, with this comes some steep regulation. Shipments vary from 1KG to Portsmouth to 2 Tonnes to Dominican Republic.
Lead judge, Simon Boyd, managing director of REIDsteel, says: “AGI has embraced change to improve its capacity to export. While it could have continued to rely upon its reputation as a supplier of products in a niche market, it decided to invest in its staff, and changed the way it operates to place it at the forefront of UK exporting. The dynamism and energy of those involved in the business could clearly be felt by all the judges.”
