Mechanical Design & Development Engineer

We are currently recruiting for two experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to join our busy Airport Systems Division and Ship Air Integration Divisions the roles require mechanical design ownership from `concept to commissioning` through the applied principles and awareness of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Design for Manufacture (DfM).

Key Responsibilities;

  • Working autonomously, as part of, or leading a design team on a particular project with key responsibilities for all the Mechanical Engineering design requirements.
  • Supporting the company’s Sales and Project Management functions with estimates of cost and timescale.
  • Responsible for the design and development of mechanical hardware, which is consistent with targets of time scale, cost and technical performance.

General Tasks;

  • To maintain daily records of work in progress and to prepare technical documentation.
  • To conduct and participate in design reviews as necessary. 
  • To maintain an awareness of current mechanical techniques, products and processes
  • To implement effective product changes to improve performance, ensuring documentation changes are designed and distributed accordingly.

If you hold a Mechanical Engineering Qualification, knowledge of APQP principle are Self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy and have conscientious approach to work we would love to hear from you.

The role requires travel both within the UK and overseas when required, including travel/ work outside normal office hours as necessary and in accordance with company procedures.
