Engineering Team Lead

We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Team Lead to join our Ship Air Integration Division.

The post holder will be responsible for managing, leading and developing a team of multi-discipline engineers, to continue the development of existing AGI products and the introduction of new ones, to include high quality reliable software and hardware solutions, in accordance with the company’s Engineering Design Management procedure.  You will work with the engineering team, and other business functions, to improve processes, to implement solutions, and to ensure a robust engineering design review process is followed, with a strong focus on design for assembly & maintenance, safety and warranty. Specifically, you will provide significant technical input to the hardware design and development of products associated with LED based visual landing aids in naval applications.

The successful candidate will effectively lead and motivate the team, whilst providing technical guidance, in an open and clear manner, and will ensure new product development projects are resourced and delivered on time, and within budget. You will professionally represent the Company and other departments when travelling and meeting customers and suppliers. You will work closely with all relevant departments, and the Engineering Manager to ensure designs are fit for manufacture, ease of installation and maintenance, and follow all health and safety guidance.

Applicants should hold a degree in Electronic Engineering or a related subject, and have a minimum of 5 years proven design experience in the industry. You should have strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronic design, along with the ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation. You should be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and have experience in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement processes and tools.  Key qualities for this role include adaptability, integrity, excellent leadership skills, the ability to make solid business decisions and be able to present them to peers and senior management, effective communication skills, self-discipline, and the capability to motivate yourself and the team.  You must be keen to accept responsibility and accountability and will ideally be working towards chartered status.

Baseline security clearance will be required for the successful candidate.
